Frequently Asked Questions

When you register for a course or workshop, you are reserving your spot. You will receive a confirmation email that your registration has been received. You will then receive a welcome email from TWR a week before the start of the course, and again the day before the course begins. In regards to payment, TWR sends a sales order at the start of the course, and an invoice once the course ends.

Are the courses taught live?

All TWR courses and workshops are taught live.

What platform(s) does TWR use for courses?

TWR courses are taught over Zoom. TWR also provides a Google Classroom for each
course and workshop where participants can find all course materials.

What materials are included with the course?

Access to the Google Classroom provides participants with all course materials
including PowerPoint slides, pacing guides, classroom videos, and other resources to support implementation.
Participants can also access TWR’s free resource site at www.thewritingrevolution.org/book-resources
for additional resources.

How long is the course in total?

Course length varies depending on the course or workshop selected. Please see below
for a breakdown of the total course times.

Does TWR provide a certificate of completion?

TWR provides a certificate of completion upon request. More information will be
shared during the course/workshop.

Does TWR provide CTLE credit?

TWR provides CTLE credit upon request and with the completion of a culminating
activity.

What are the course requirements?

There is an optional culminating activity that participants can complete. TWR also
references The Writing Revolution book throughout the course and recommends that participants read the book.

Does TWR offer in-person courses?

TWR does not offer in-person courses at this time.

Where can I find TWR’s course offerings?

You can download our course descriptions, and access the list of upcoming courses.
The list of upcoming courses is in chronological order by type of course.

What time zone are the courses listed in?

All times are listed in Eastern Time Zone (USA).

I can’t attend the course live. Can I view recordings of the course?

The courses and workshops are intended to be taken live. However, as a courtesy,
TWR records each session and posts it to the Google Classroom where participants have one week to view it in
the event that they miss a session due to an extenuating circumstance or if they would like to rewatch the
session that they attended live.

How do I register for a course?

Once you have selected the course you would like to enroll in, you should submit a
completed registration form. Once you submit the form, you will see a confirmation on your
screen and receive a confirmation email.

How do I register multiple people for a course?

If you are registering multiple people for the same course, you can select “Add
another participant” on the bottom right of the “Participant Information” section of the registration form
(see below) .

If you are planning to register a large number of educators in a course (25+),
please email kmaloney@thewritingrevolution.org for support.

How do I know my registration has been submitted?

Once you submit the form, you should see a confirmation screen. If the page takes
you back to the form, that means your registration was not processed. Successful registrations will also
receive a confirmation email.

I am a private tutor/individual. What should I put for school information?

Please enter the best approximate information so that the form can be completed and
submitted. For example, you can provide your name and email address for “principal information” and your
name or company name for “school district.”

I am an international educator and my phone number is not being accepted on the
form.

Please provide the first 10 digits of your phone number so that it conforms to US
format. If you would like to amend that to your correct phone number, please reach out to enrollment@thewritingrevolution.org and we will correct it manually within our
system.

When do I pay for the course?

Payment is required at the conclusion of the course. Participants will receive a
sales order at the beginning of the course, and an invoice once the course ends.

Before the course begins:

When will I receive information about accessing the course sessions?

TWR sends a welcome email a week before the start of the course, and again the day
before the course begins. Please check your spam folder and search your inbox for an email from remote@thewritingrevolution.org.

I did not receive the welcome email yet, but I should have. Why not?

If officially enrolled, check your spam, and search for remote@thewritingrevolution.org. If you need further support, please email remote@thewritingrevolution.org.

Do I need to do anything before the course begins?

Purchase a copy of The Writing Revolution book and once you receive the welcome
email from TWR, check that you are able to access the Google Classroom.

During the course:

How is my attendance taken?

TWR provides an attendance form for participants to complete and record their
attendance for each course/workshop session.

I missed a session. Can I view a recording?

The courses and workshops are intended to be taken live. However, as a courtesy,
TWR records each session and posts it to the Google Classroom where participants have two weeks to view it
in the event that they miss a session due to an extenuating circumstance or if they would like to rewatch
the session that they attended live.

Does my attendance count when I view a recording of the live session I missed?

Yes; the course attendance form asks: Did you attend this session live or watch the
recording?
Select the option “Recording” and your attendance will be counted. This is important
to remember as earning a TWR Certificate of Completion is contingent upon your attendance.

After the course:

How do I get a certificate of completion?

TWR provides participants with a form to complete to request a certificate of
completion.

How do I get CTLE credit?

TWR provides participants with a form to complete to request CTLE credit.
Participants must also complete the culminating assignment to receive CTLE credit.

How can I find out how to bring TWR to my school or district?

Pricing/Billing:

When will I receive my bill?

A sales order is sent a few days after the class begins; a finalized invoice is
sent upon completion of the class.

Who can I contact for billing related questions?

How can I receive an attendance report or course agenda?

Please email invoicing@thewritingrevolution.org to request an attendance report
and/or course agenda.

How will payment be processed?

TWR sends a QuickBooks link with your invoice that will provide a direct method to
pay via credit card. We also accept checks, ACH and ETF.

If your school is issuing a purchase order we will also process that in accordance with your school’s
billing policy.

Is my school/district eligible for a discount?

TWR offers a discount for schools and districts based on the number of educators
that are enrolled in the same section of a course.

10% for 2+ educators enrolled in the same section of a course

20% for 10+ educators enrolled in the same section of a course

In addition, the school principal and any district-level administrators may attend
an introductory course at no fee with the enrollment of at least one other paid educator per free seat.
